You Deserve Support That Feels Right

Our Mentors

Our team of mentors brings together a diverse blend of experience, empathy, and energy to support NDIS participants in living more independently and reaching their goals. We are educators, support workers, social workers, community builders, and listeners—but above all, we are people who care deeply about making a real difference.

Our mentors work alongside participants in everyday settings—from homes and workplaces to cafes, libraries, and community hubs—providing not just support, but genuine companionship and skill-building opportunities. Each mentor is handpicked for their integrity, lived experience, and ability to build trusting, lasting relationships.

Whether it’s helping someone master public transport, build a morning routine, prepare for a job interview, or simply feel more confident in their own skin, our mentors show up with patience, encouragement, and purpose.

We understand that no two people are the same. That’s why our approach is tailored, flexible, and always respectful of the participant’s preferences, culture, communication style, and goals.

Together, the Good Company mentor team creates a safe space where participants are empowered to grow at their own pace—and celebrate their wins along the way.

Sheldon Hough

Coordinator

Sheldon joined Good Company as a mentor while studying. The connections he made straightaway with participants led Sheldon to realise he had moved into the right industry. After completing a combined degree of Criminology and Psychology and his Honours in Psychology Sheldon moved into a coordinator role with Good Company.

Sheldon loves the interactions he has within the industry, both with participants, as well as like-minded individuals doing their best to support others. Sheldon is passionate about supporting participants to develop their capacity to communicate their needs, feelings and capabilities, ultimately giving them a voice in the world. He uses his own high level of communication skills and intuitive approach to create meaningful connections with every individual he interacts with, developing a high level of trust. Those who interact with Sheldon recognise that he truly cares about empowering others to live a meaningful life.

When not at work, Sheldon enjoys a range of sports, both as a spectator and as a player. He also enjoys keeping fit, listening to music, hanging out with friends at the beach and volunteer dog walking for the elderly.

Thomas Owen

Coordinator

Thomas’ first experience supporting people living with disabilities was as a high school English teacher, teaching classes that included students with a range of different disabilities that informed how they engaged in the classroom. He found that empowering individual students with strategies that catered to their individual strengths was the most rewarding part of teaching.

Thomas is passionate about helping others to identify what they want in life and to grow towards their personal vision of a fulfilled future. Throughout his time at Good Company Thomas has enjoyed being able to connect with a variety of people to help them find the next steps towards their goals.

Thomas believes that communication is at the heart of collaboration, and that developing strong, personalised routines is the surest path to living a good life made up of good days.

Outside work hours, Thomas enjoys making the most of time with his friends and family; walking in Perth’s parks and natural reserves, playing tabletop games, or chatting over a good meal.
