Getting Started
How do I get started with Good Company?
Getting started is straightforward. You can reach out directly via goodcompanyds.com.au/contact-us or call the relevant office for your state. The team will discuss your needs, your NDIS plan, and the supports that are right for you.
Do I need an NDIS plan to access services?
Good Company primarily supports NDIS participants. If you have an active NDIS plan with funding for the relevant support categories, you can engage Good Company as your provider. Contact them to discuss your plan and how they can assist.
What happens when I first sign up?
Before sessions start, Good Company arranges an in-person introduction between you and your mentor. This meeting is about more than paperwork or scheduling — it is an opportunity to build trust, ask questions, and get comfortable with each other. Families are also welcome to attend.
What is a participant profile and why is it created?
Good Company creates personalised profiles for both participants and mentors. These profiles capture personal strengths, communication preferences, interests, and goals. For participants, the profile ensures their mentor understands not just what support is needed but who they are as a person. For mentors, it provides context that helps build a stronger relationship from the very first session.
Fees & Funding
How are services funded?
Good Company’s services are funded through NDIS plans. Fees are charged directly against your NDIS plan, so you can focus on building skills and independence without unexpected out-of-pocket costs.
How are service fees set?
Service fees adhere to the official NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, updated regularly by the NDIA. As an independent, unregistered NDIS provider, Good Company independently sets prices to offer greater flexibility while keeping fees aligned with the NDIS Price Guide. There are no hidden costs.
Where can I find current hourly rates?
Current rates are published at goodcompanyds.com.au/service-fees. Because the NDIA may update pricing at any time, it is recommended to check this page directly or contact the office for the most up-to-date information.
What is Good Company’s cancellation policy?
Good Company asks for at least 7 days’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. A cancellation fee of 100% may be charged where:
- A participant fails to attend a scheduled support session without reasonable notice, or
- A participant provides less than seven (7) days’ notice for a cancellation.
How We Work
What makes Good Company different from other providers?
Good Company combines a team-based support model, personalised participant and mentor profiles, allied health collaboration, and in-person introductions to deliver support that is both consistent and deeply human. Technology is used in the background to keep mentors well-informed without replacing genuine human connection.
How does the team-based support model work?
When you receive support from Good Company, you are never relying on just one person. While your mentor plays the key day-to-day role, a whole team works behind them, sharing knowledge and experience. If a mentor is unavailable, another team member can step in without disruption because information and updates are shared across the team.
Does Good Company work with allied health professionals?
Yes. Good Company works with participants’ therapists and clinicians to share insights, strengthen outcomes, and ensure supports are aligned with therapy goals. This collaborative approach means support is integrated with the broader network of care around each participant.
How does Good Company use technology in its service delivery?
In the background, Good Company uses ChatGPT as an internal knowledge tool to help the team access guidance, training notes, and best-practice information efficiently. This does not replace human connection or decision-making. No personal or identifiable participant information is ever entered into the platform.
How does Good Company ensure quality and safety?
Good Company implements a robust system of quality and compliance checks, including:
- Structured supervision and regular performance reviews
- Participant feedback processes
- Internal audits against industry benchmarks
- Monitoring against current disability sector guidelines and legislative requirements
