Jodie’s story: growing Pooch N Pounce

How Jodie turned her love of animals into a Melbourne pet sitting business with its own website, a fresh brand and simple systems that work for her.

Where Jodie started

Animals have always been a big part of Jodie’s life. Before she began working with Good Company, she was already looking after pets for people in her community, mostly through word of mouth.

Her goal was to grow that into a business people could find, trust and book easily, without losing the personal care that makes her service special.

Growing online

“Good Company Disability Services are awesome. They have done anything and everything to help me with my website, (which Josh has done an absolutely awesome job on) and also my social media accounts as well. They help me to come up with ideas to keep posting and I appreciate what they do for me. Thank you so much.”

Pooch N Pounce today

Pooch N Pounce offers dog and cat sitting in Melbourne, including house sitting, home visits and dog walking. Care always happens in the pet’s own home, so animals stay relaxed in familiar surroundings.

A note on transparency: Jodie’s website was built free of charge by Kraken Digital, a web business owned by Good Company’s founders, with the first year of hosting included. When that year ended, Jodie was told she could host her site more cheaply elsewhere and was given time to decide. She chose to keep her hosting with Kraken Digital as a paying customer. Her mentoring with Good Company is separate from that arrangement.

What’s next

Jodie continues to work with her mentor on the next steps for her business, from helping more local pet owners find her online to growing her client base.
