Who Is Eligible for SLES in Perth?
SLES is generally for NDIS participants who:
- Are aged around 16 to 22 and in their final years of school or recently left
- Have Finding and Keeping a Job – School Leaver Employment Supports funding in their NDIS plan
- Aren’t yet ready for open employment but want to build skills for work or training
Planning can start in Year 11 or 12. If SLES isn’t in your plan, ask about it at your next planning meeting or plan reassessment. SLES usually runs for up to two years after you finish school, though some young people are ready for work sooner. You can read more about SLES on the NDIS website.
SLES is funded under Capacity Building – Finding and Keeping a Job. We provide a written quote before we start, and our rates are on our service fees page.
With your consent, your mentor works with your family, school, support coordinator, plan manager and future employers so everyone is working toward the same goal. When SLES ends, we help you move on to paid work, TAFE or training, ongoing NDIS employment support in Perth, or an Inclusive Employment Australia (formerly DES) provider.
