Who will call me?
Questions People Ask
Who can use this referral form?
Support coordinators, plan managers, allied health professionals and other providers. Family members and carers can use it too, but the short enquiry form on our Contact page is quicker.
Do I need the participant's consent?
Yes. The participant, or their decision-maker, needs to know about the referral and agree to you sharing their information with us. Please ensure you have confirmed this before you send a referral.
What happens after I send a referral?
We reply to you within one business day, or contact the participant directly if you’ve asked us to. We talk through their goals and funding, then send a written quote. Once funding is confirmed we match a mentor on personality, interests and location. The participant sees the mentor’s profile, meets them in person and gets a plain-language service agreement before regular sessions start.
How quickly can support start?
Once funding is confirmed, we match a mentor usually within a week for participants who are centrally located. If a referral is urgent, say so on the form or call us, and we’ll tell you honestly what we can do. We are not an emergency or crisis service. If someone is in immediate danger, call 000.
Can you take NDIA-managed participants?
Not at the moment. We can work with participants whose plans are plan-managed or self-managed, because NDIA-managed plans can only be used with registered providers. Like every NDIS provider, registered or not, we are bound by the NDIS Code of Conduct. Not sure how a plan is managed? Call us and we’ll help you check.
What supports can I refer someone for?
Mentoring, capacity building, employment support (including school leaver employment supports), microenterprise, and social and community participation. We’re best suited to people aged 6 and up living with psychosocial disability, autism, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, ADHD or developmental delay. We don’t provide personal care. The full list is on What We Do.
What areas do you cover?
In person within about an hour of Perth and across most Melbourne suburbs. We also offer support in Adelaide and Canberra. By phone or video anywhere in Australia.
What does support cost?
Our fees follow the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits and are claimed from the participant’s plan. Current hourly rates are on our Service Fees page, and we send a written quote before anything starts. [In-person sessions run for at least three hours, and phone or video sessions for at least two.
Will you keep me updated?
Yes, if the participant agrees. We check in regularly with the participant and can keep you, their family or anyone else they choose in the loop. We can also write a comprehensive provider report before a plan reassessment or whenever it’s required.
What happens after you refer an ndis participant
- We say hello. We get back to you within one business day, then have a relaxed chat with you or the participant about their goals, their interests and how their funding works. We follow up with a written quote to read in your own time. Nothing is locked in.
- The mentor match. Once funding is confirmed, we match the participant with a mentor on personality, interests and location, usually within a week if they live in a central location. They see the mentor’s profile first, then meet in person. Family is welcome, and so are you.
- Regular sessions. Same mentor, regular times, and a service agreement in plain language. We check in regularly with the participant and, with their agreement, keep you in the loop.
